Our Story
A family business since 2001
XCLUSIV is a family business. We founded the company in the UK in 2001 and opened our first shop in a shopping centre on Sutton High Street, Surrey. In 2003 we opened a second shop in the historic market town of Horsham, West Sussex, and Horsham is our home today. Ever since, we have been designing and making wedding dresses and occasionwear alongside our ready-to-wear collection, and in that time we have dressed thousands of people and families for the most important days of their lives.
What we make
For women: wedding dresses, evening and occasion wear, and everything that completes the look, from shoes, hats, shawls and waistcoats to veils and accessories. For men: made-to-measure suits, with waistcoats, ties, bow ties and cummerbunds colour-matched to the rest of the wedding party.
One design, one school
As prom became part of British school life, we made more and more prom dresses and built up a great deal of experience along the way. Out of that came a promise we still keep: no two girls should arrive in the same dress. Each design is made only once for any one school. It is a real challenge, and it means giving up easy repeat sales, but it has earned us an excellent reputation.
Some of the girls who come to us arrive with their own sketches and ideas. We love turning those drawings into a real dress they can wear as they step into a new chapter of their lives.
How it works
We carefully select quality fabrics across a range of prices, so there is a good choice whatever your budget. From choosing the fabric and style, through measuring and fittings, to collecting your finished outfit, the process usually takes one to three months. The timeline can change depending on the design, the amount of handwork involved, or changes in the wearer's figure along the way.
For last-minute customers we do offer an express service. To be honest, we don't encourage it: rushing means overtime, which raises the cost for you and stretches our team, and neither is something we like to see. If you can, come to us early.
Who we are
XCLUSIV is led by Ms M, who brings experience across every side of the business. She holds a double degree from a UK university as well as an MBA, was recognised as a local successful businesswoman in 2015, and is known for the trust her customers place in her.
Our values are simple: grace, integrity, and making our customers' dreams come true.
Still here, still making
For more than two decades, through good times and hard ones, and as cheap online fashion has reshaped our industry, we have kept doing what we love: making elegant clothes and enjoying the process of creating them together with our customers. Whatever the years ahead bring, we intend to carry on the same way, holding to what we believe in and keeping our craft and our values alive through every challenge, so that beauty and individuality remain a tradition worth passing on.
