For decades XCLUSIV has been designing and hand-making bespoke wedding dresses, bridesmaid dresses, mother of the bride outfits and men's suits in our own studio. Most bridal shops can only sell you a dress from a catalogue. We start with you.
Bring Your Own Design
You don't need a pattern or any sewing knowledge. Many of our brides arrive with:
- A photo of a celebrity or designer gown they love but can't afford, or can't find in their size
- Screenshots of several dresses – "the sleeves from this one, the skirt from that one"
- A hand-drawn sketch, however rough
- Their mother's or grandmother's wedding dress they'd like to recreate or reinvent
- Nothing but a feeling and a venue in mind
Our designer will talk it through with you, suggest what will flatter your figure and suit your venue, and turn it into a design we can make.
The Designer Look, Without the Designer Price
Fallen in love with a gown in a magazine or on a designer's website, then seen the price tag? You're not alone. Many of our brides bring us a picture of a dress costing several thousand pounds and ask us to make something in the same spirit, at a price that works for them.
We don't sell or copy anyone's label. What we offer is skill: experienced dressmakers who can look at a photo, understand how the dress is constructed, and make you a gown with the silhouette, detail and feeling you fell in love with – cut to your measurements and made from fabrics you choose.
Often the result fits better than the original ever could, because it was made for you from the start.
How Your Bespoke Wedding Dress Is Made
- Design consultation. Show us your ideas and try on styles from our collection of over 100 gowns to find the shapes and necklines that suit you best.
- Fabric and colour. Choose from lace, chiffon, satin, tulle, taffeta and dupion silk in hundreds of shades – ivory, blush, champagne or something bolder.
- Measurements. We take full measurements, so the dress is cut to your body rather than altered from a standard size.
- Fittings. Your dress is fitted and adjusted on you until it is exactly right.
- Finishing. Hand beading, crystal embroidery, lace appliqué and the final details that make it yours.

Frequently Asked Questions
How far in advance should I start?
We recommend coming to us 1–3 months before your wedding in our quieter months, and 3–6 months ahead in peak season. Heavily beaded and hand-embroidered dresses take longer, so allow more time for those.
This is longer than our standard production times shown on our Payment & Shipping page, because a bespoke dress also needs time for design, fabric selection and several fittings.
Many excited brides come to us a year or more in advance, and that's wonderful. We can design your dress and take your measurements early, then schedule the final fittings closer to the day, so it still fits perfectly even if your shape changes in the meantime.
Please note that February to early June is prom season, our busiest time of year. If your wedding falls in spring or summer, the earlier you come, the better.
My wedding is very soon – can you still help?
Yes. Our express service is for brides who are short on time, or whose dress from elsewhere hasn't worked out. Our team works extra hours to finish your dress in time, so an express fee applies. If you're in this situation, contact us as soon as possible and we'll tell you honestly what we can do.
Coming early is always the calmer option, and it saves you the express fee.
How much does a bespoke wedding dress cost?
Honestly, it depends on the dress – which is why we don't quote a one-size-fits-all "starting price". A simple satin gown and one in pure silk are worlds apart in cost, and so is a clean design versus one covered in hand-sewn beading and embroidery. Fabric, finish, embellishment and hours of handwork all shape the price.
So we look at what you'd like, whether that's a photo, a sketch or an idea, and give you a clear, fair quote at your first consultation. Tell us your budget too: within reason, we'll design around it, suggesting fabrics and details that give you the look you love at a price that works for you.
Because we design and make everything with our own team, with no middleman, our prices are very competitive, and most brides are pleasantly surprised.
Do you offer discounts for the whole wedding party?
Yes. When we make outfits for several members of your wedding party, such as bridesmaids, the groom and best men, and mother of the bride or groom, we offer generous package discounts, often with colour-matched extras such as ties, cravats or waistcoats included. Ask us about it at your consultation.
Can you make a dress from a photo?
Yes. We can make a dress inspired by any photo you bring, adapted to your figure, fabric choice and budget.
Can you make my bridesmaids' dresses to match?
Yes. We can make bridesmaid, flower girl and mother of the bride outfits in matching or coordinating colours, plus ties and cravats for the groom's party.
